Summary:
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week).

Duties
Incumbent performs inspections, installations, preventative maintenance, and emergency repair of unclassified technical security and physical security systems deployed by Diplomatic Security (DS) at U.S. diplomatic missions overseas in the Residential Security Program.  Incumbent studies and makes recommendations for ways to improve the effectiveness of the security systems at U.S. diplomatic residences.  Position carries no direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on field experience in physical security implementation, installation, maintenance, and repair to include demonstrable experience with alarm systems, CCTV, basic electrical wiring, basic welding and metal fabrication, reading and interpreting architectural and engineer design drawings is required. Must have experience working with different types of steel, concrete and masonry wall construction, anchors and bolts is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Jobholder must have good knowledge of country specific housing related issues. Good knowledge of where to procure goods and services in the country. Must have knowledge and/or experience in installing, programing, troubleshooting and repairing alarm systems to include the installation and configuration of communication modules 2, 3 and 4G GPRS, communication configuration by telephone, SMS, Radio base and / or cellular base. These may be tested.

Education Requirements:
Completion of High School (GCE “A” Level or BAC or its equivalent) and two (2) years of apprenticeship, or an advanced equivalent local level of occupational training such as an electrician is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:  Good working knowledge (Reading/Writing/Speaking) of English and French is required. This may be tested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to use MS Excel, Access, and Word software, Office 365, web-based data entry platforms, and internet search engines. Must have Operational ability with electricity including knowledge of alternating and direct current. Must have basic locksmith skills. These may be tested.

SALARY: The annual gross salary includes: the Basic Rate, the Miscellaneous Benefits Allowance, and the End-of-the-Year Bonus.  Seniority Allowance is paid in accordance with local labor law. A Cashier allowance is paid for eligible positions.


MEDICAL BENEFITS: The U.S. Mission in Yaounde directly reimburse eligible employees for covered medical expenses incurred for them and/or eligible dependents, subject to the stated limits of the Local Compensation Plan.


LEAVE BENEFITS: Subject to the stated limits and rules of the Local Compensation Plan, employees are entitled to the following types of leaves: Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Special Leave.


HOLIDAYS: The U.S. Mission in Yaounde and the Embassy Branch Office in Douala observe American and Cameroonian public holidays, about 19 holidays per year.


For Eligible Family Members (EFMs), benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
